Squirrel Girl is here to save…well, not a lot

Squirrel Girl

The legendary comic artist Steve Ditko is well known for his co-creation with Stan Lee, Spiderman. Lesser known is his later creation, Squirrel Girl. As a youngster I was enthralled by the adventures of Spidey; I even had a life-sized Spiderman in my room (which was surreal when on a fortunate occasion Stan Lee visited our house and signed it in Peter Parker’s name for me!).

However I’m not convinced that “Squirrel Girl” would have quite the same hook for a 8 year old boy as a guy with Spider-sense.

Maybe she is the only hero of any merit in New Hampshire though!

Who’s this guy?

I’m a big fan of emerging technologies and I particularly like the possibilities of the new search engine Cuil. However, I’m not going to stay a fan if they put a picture of this guy next to me! WTF

The US gets all the good stuff

Why do those lucky Yanks get to keep all the really cool stuff? We don’t get ‘soft & gentle’ headwipes!

Snuffbox – Mac or PC?

I must have missed this one totally, but I saw a clip today (thanks Will!) that has my favourite actor from the Boosh, Rich Fulcher. Apparently it aired on BBC3 back in 2006, but it must have been on in the week I was on Mars or somewhere. Anyway, it’s Rich and co-Boosh star Matt Berry doing what they do best…

Facebook Chat

Monday, April 7th, 2008

I’ve covered the issue of chat on social networking sites from a business point of view over on the RealWorld site, but how does it affect us?
Well, it could pave the way for the end of standard IM clients such as Jabber and AIM, as it will be one less app to have running. It will probably all hinge on the user experience that Facebook Chat provides, but if popular, it could become the de facto IM method. (Interestingly, we don’t know if iChat is coming to iPhone version 2.0 yet).
